Women’s Entrepreneurship Day 2025 Summit in the United Nations
Celebrated every year on November 19 under the auspices of the United Nations, Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) has become the world’s largest initiative dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and empowering women in business, leadership, and innovation.
Now in its 12th year, the movement has grown to unite over 150 countries, thousands of partners, and millions of participants — all working toward one shared mission: to empower women economically and socially so they can build a better world for all.
The World Woman Club and WEDO: A Global Partnership for Change
Since 2016, the World Woman Club (WWC) — founded by Dr Olga Azarova — has been a proud partner of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organisation (WEDO), actively advancing its mission across Europe and Asia.
From London to Kyiv, Vilnius to Chişinău, the World Woman Club and WEDO bring together female entrepreneurs, innovators, and professionals to exchange ideas, build connections, and ignite change.
“Empowering a woman means empowering a family, a city, a nation,” says Dr Olga Azarova, Honorary President of the World Woman Club and the official WEDO Global Ambassador.
Through annual forums, mentorship programmes, and educational initiatives, the Club helps women expand their businesses, achieve financial independence, and lead with vision and compassion.
Founded in 2013 by the renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist Wendy Diamond, Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) was created to address a global gap — the lack of recognition and support for women who drive employment and social change across every continent.
Since then, WEDO has evolved into a dynamic platform of change, celebrating the achievements of women entrepreneurs and mobilising resources to support the next generation of business leaders.

The Mission: From Empowerment to Global Impact
WEDO’s mission extends beyond celebration — it’s about transformation.
By connecting women entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, and policymakers, WEDO creates a global ecosystem that fuels innovation and sustainable economic growth.
Ambassadors from around the world — including Dr Olga Azarova (UK), Rosario Velasco Lino (Mexico), and Liudmyla Stanislavenko (Ukraine) — lead impactful projects in their regions, supporting women-led startups and advocating for equal access to opportunities.
These leaders help advance WED’s key goals:
✅ Celebrate women’s entrepreneurial achievements.
✅ Build global awareness of women’s economic contributions.
✅ Mobilise resources and mentorship for future generations.
🌎 Tangible Global Results
Over the years, WEDO and its network have:
✅ Celebrate women’s entrepreneurial achievements.
✅ Build global awareness of women’s economic contributions.
✅ Mobilise resources and mentorship for future generations.
🌎 Tangible Global Results
Over the years, WEDO and its network have:
- Mobilised millions of dollars in microloans and funding for women-led businesses.
- Created mentorship programmes connecting female founders with industry leaders.
- Partnered with governments, NGOs, and corporations to implement gender-inclusive economic policies.
- Sparked national dialogues on women’s leadership and sustainable development.
- These efforts have not only elevated individual women but have also transformed communities, economies, and entire nations.
“WEDO is more than a day. It’s a declaration — that women’s voices, ideas, and leadership matter.” — Wendy Diamond, Founder of WEDO.
This year, the WEDO Global Summit at the United Nations Headquarters in New York (November 14–15, 2025) has united over 200 women leaders, entrepreneurs, and diplomats from around the world. By supporting WEDO, individuals, organisations, and governments take part in building a future where every woman — regardless of her background — has the freedom, tools, and confidence to pursue her dreams and make the world better.
“Empowering women is not charity — it is smart economics and a moral imperative,”
reminds Wendy Diamond.
