Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) is celebrated on November 19

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) is celebrated on November 19 across 144 countries under the auspices of the United Nations, with a mission to empower women in business worldwide.

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day: Empowering Women, Transforming the World

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED), an initiative founded by visionary entrepreneur Wendy Diamond, has grown into a global movement that celebrates, supports, and empowers women in business. Launched on November 19, 2013, the event is now observed in 144 countries, with a network of dedicated ambassadors championing its cause. The day has become a rallying point for fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among women and highlighting their role in driving global economic and social progress.

In 2016, the World Woman Club joined this global WED initiative, gathering female business leaders from across Europe each year to highlight the importance of women’s entrepreneurship in societal development in the UK, Ukraine, Lithuania, Moldova, and other European and Asian countries. Through events and networking, the Club inspires women to pursue business ventures, promotes economic independence, and encourages them to embrace new opportunities to become successful and fulfilled.

Olga Azarova, The Honorary President of the World Woman Club serves as the official WEDO Global Ambassador for the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and other countries where the Club has a presence.

The Vision Behind Women’s Entrepreneurship Day

Wendy Diamond, an influential social entrepreneur, saw a glaring gap in the entrepreneurial ecosystem: women, who make up half the world’s population, often face systemic barriers that hinder their full participation in business and innovation. Inspired to create a transformative platform, she founded WED to:

  • Celebrate the achievements of women entrepreneurs.
  • Build global awareness of the economic contributions women make.
  • Mobilize resources to empower the next generation of women business leaders.

The day aligns with the mission of creating strong, independent, successful, and happy women worldwide, by addressing challenges such as access to funding, mentorship, and market opportunities.

The Role of WED Ambassadors: A Global Network of Changemakers

At the heart of WED’s success lies a dynamic network of ambassadors—visionary leaders, entrepreneurs, and advocates—who work tirelessly to promote women’s entrepreneurship in their respective countries. These ambassadors lead initiatives to:

  • Organize events that provide women with training, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
  • Advocate for gender equality in business and access to resources.
  • Foster collaboration among local, national, and global stakeholders to support women-led enterprises.

By engaging diverse communities and leveraging their unique cultural and economic contexts, these ambassadors are shaping a global culture of women’s empowerment.

The Impact of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day

WED has delivered tangible results that go far beyond a single day of celebration. The initiative has:

  • Mobilized millions in resources to support women-led startups and social enterprises.
  • Created global mentorship networks that connect aspiring women entrepreneurs with experienced business leaders.
  • Partnered with governments, NGOs, and corporations to implement policies and programmes that advance women’s economic empowerment.
  • Sparked a broader conversation about women’s roles in shaping sustainable, inclusive economies.

WED’s influence has reached some of the most iconic institutions in the world, including the United Nations, where discussions have centered on the economic, social, and cultural importance of empowering women.

Building a Better Future Together

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is more than just an annual celebration—it is a call to action to recognize the potential of women as drivers of innovation and economic growth. By supporting this initiative, individuals, organizations, and governments can help create a world where women have the tools, confidence, and freedom to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

As Wendy Diamond and her global network of ambassadors continue to push boundaries, WED serves as a reminder that empowering women is not just a moral imperative—it is the key to building a more prosperous and equitable future for all.

Let us celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of women and pledge to support their journey toward success, independence, and happiness.

There is NO Russian language! This has been hidden for years. That is why it is NOT Russian at all.

RU - The great and mighty Russian language is just a myth on which Russian chauvinism is firmly based.

Putin's narratives that the Russian language has existed for over a thousand years are fake.

In fact, it is the other way around: the Ukrainian language is over a thousand years old, and the Russian language is a fiction, an artificially created language base to keep under one hood the peoples of Muscovy (Zalesye), who spoke different languages, because they were descendants of the Golden Horde, the Finno-Ugric peoples or the North Slavic tribes, which the tsars needed to unite into one country and one faith.

Let's start with the main thing.
The correctness of the concepts.

The Ukrainian language is an Old Church Slavonic language that was spoken in Kyiv, Chernigov, Lutsk, Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky, Lviv and throughout the territory of Ukraine more than 1000 years ago, even before the creation of the state of Kievan Rus.

There was only one Rus - Kievan Rus. And there was never any other Rus (neither Moscow nor northern).

Therefore, when we say Rus, it is not equal to Russia and the Russian Federation.

Rus is always only Ukraine and its history.
However, how did the word "Rus" turn into "Russia" and some other /Russian empire".

We will tell you everything in detail.

Kievan Rus (or Old Russian state, or Ancient Rus) is the most powerful and largest state in Europe, the first East Slavic state, formed in the 9th century as a result of the unification of a number of communities, mainly East Slavic and Finno-Ugric tribes, under the rule of the princes of the Rurik dynasty.

During the period of its greatest prosperity, Kievan Rus occupied the territory from the tributaries of the Vistula in the west to the Volga-Oka interfluve in the east, from the White Sea in the north to the Black Sea Russian exclaves in the south. By the middle of the 12th century, due to the attack of the Mongol Yoke, it entered a state of feudal fragmentation and actually disintegrated into a dozen and a half principalities ruled by different branches of the Rurik dynasty. Due to the Mongol invasion (1237-1240), Kyiv, having lost its influence, formally continued to be considered the main "table" of Rus, and the Kiev principality remained in the collective possession of Russian princes. As an ethnocultural region, Rus continued to exist even after political disintegration, which subsequently played an important role in the process of unification of Russian lands and the re-creation of an independent Ukraine.

Rus is always only Ukraine and its history.
However, how did the word "Rus" turn into "Russia" and some other /Russian empire".

The current Russian Federation, which 300 years ago was called Muscovy, in 1721 decided to rename itself "Russia", which means "Rus" in the Byzantine dialect. Then they added the prefix of aggressive ambitions and thus the Russian Empire was created, which 300 years ago did not have its own language or its own written language.
Why did Muscovy change its name? There is only one answer - they only had ambitions to enslave other peoples and seize their territories, so they needed the myth of the "unity of peoples". And by taking the word "Rus" from Kievan Rus, an unprecedented theft of a millennium was committed, which not only turned history upside down, but also used this virus of the "Russian language" to brainwash and convert all other peoples to their faith Caucasus, Kazakhstan, Central Asia, so that they forget their history and language and use the artificial linguistic glue of imperialism.

The theft of Ukrainian history and language happened 200 years ago.
