В Австралии горит остров из наследия ЮНЕСКО
Лесные пожары охватили уникальный остров в Австралии, местных жителей и туристов решено эвакуировать.
Борьба с пожарами на популярном среди туристов острове, расположенном у побережья штата Квинсленд, продолжается уже шесть недель, сообщает ВВС.
Как сообщается, полностью выгорела половина острова – 83000 гектаров, что почти равно площади Киева.
Остров Фрейзер – крупнейший в мире песчаный остров, внесенный в список Всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО.
Одной из достопримечательностей острова являются пресные озёра, которых на острове более сотни. На острове живет 200 жителей.
