From McQueen’s dramatic homecoming and M&S’s runway debut to the eighth UA in UK Fashion Show, London celebrated heritage, resilience and a new generation of international talents
London Fashion Week returned to the British capital from 17 to 21 September 2026, presenting the Spring/Summer 2027 collections and reaffirming London’s position as one of the world’s most creative and culturally diverse fashion centres.
Organised by the British Fashion Council, the five-day programme brought together established fashion houses, independent designers, emerging brands, retailers, buyers, editors, celebrities and creative professionals. This season was distinguished by several major returns and debuts, as well as by an increasingly international programme in which fashion became a powerful instrument of identity, cultural diplomacy and economic opportunity.
British Fashion Council is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to further the interests of the British fashion industry and its designer businesses by harnessing and sharing collective knowledge, experience and resources.
Among the most meaningful events was the eighth edition of the UA in UK Fashion Show, organised by UA in UK Community and Aleksandra Volkova’s Agency. The showcase gave Ukrainian and international designers an influential London platform and demonstrated how fashion can preserve national creativity while connecting independent brands with the international market.
One of the week’s defining moments was the return of McQueen to the London runway after years of presenting its principal collections in Paris. Creative Director Seán McGirr staged the Spring/Summer 2027 show inside a subterranean seventeenth-century chapel, reconnecting the house with the dark theatricality, unconventional beauty and radical British tailoring associated with its founder, Lee Alexander McQueen.
Another highly anticipated comeback united two celebrated names in British fashion: Christopher Kane and Mulberry. Kane’s first collection as Mulberry’s creative director combined his provocative modernity with the leather craftsmanship and practical luxury of the Somerset-based house.
One of the week’s most significant commercial moments came from Marks & Spencer, which made its London Fashion Week runway debut while celebrating 100 years in fashion.
These presentations revealed the breadth of London fashion: heritage and experimentation, couture and commerce, restrained tailoring and theatrical performance all coexisted within the same week.
UA in UK Fashion Show: Ukrainian Fashion on the London Stage
The UA in UK Fashion Show held in London on 18 September 2026, the eighth edition was presented as part of the wider Fashion Britain programme. It was organised by UA in UK Community together with Aleksandra Volkova Agency, which specialises in fashion promotion, public relations, talent representation and creative events.
The 2026 showcase featured three Ukrainian brands:
- FÁBBY
- SELERA
- PASKAL
The event was created as an intimate and immersive runway experience combining fashion, sound, professional networking and direct communication among designers, buyers, journalists, stylists, creators and other industry representatives.
Rather than presenting Ukrainian fashion simply through the context of war or national sympathy, the organisers placed the emphasis on professional quality, distinctive brand identity and international commercial potential.
This represents an important evolution. Ukrainian designers are no longer asking the international industry merely to support them because of the circumstances facing their country. They are demonstrating that their collections deserve attention because of their creativity, craftsmanship, commercial relevance and individual design language.
Three Brands, Three Creative Identities
SELERA, founded in 2020 by Ukrainian designer and stylist Valeriia Semchuk, has developed a recognisable identity around timeless clothing, limited capsules and conscious production. The brand’s signature pieces include oversized shirts, structured blazers and dresses distinguished by carefully considered cuts.
Its presence in London reflects a wider business strategy. SELERA has continued developing its customer base in Ukraine, Britain and continental Europe while combining direct online sales with wholesale partnerships. Its participation also introduced a more experimental SELERA Atelier direction, demonstrating how a young Ukrainian business can preserve its values while expanding creatively and commercially.
PASKAL, created by Ukrainian designer Julie Paskal, brought an internationally recognised fashion name to the programme. Known for architectural forms, delicate silhouettes and sophisticated laser-cutting techniques, the brand has previously presented in Paris and was shortlisted for the LVMH Prize in 2014.
LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) is a French multinational holding company and conglomerate specialising in luxury goods, headquartered in Paris.
PASKAL’s work occupies the space between technology and romanticism. Precise construction and contemporary production methods are used to create garments that appear light, intricate and emotionally expressive. Its participation strengthened the professional standing of the UA in UK platform and connected an established Ukrainian designer with a new generation of brands.
FÁBBY completed the Ukrainian programme with a strong contemporary identity and an emphasis on confident visual presentation. Together, the three brands demonstrated that Ukrainian fashion cannot be reduced to a single aesthetic. It includes sustainability, experimentation, architectural construction, femininity, commercial design and bold personal expression.
Fashion Discover London: A Gateway for International Brands
The international character of London Fashion Week 2026 was further strengthened by the fourth edition of Fashion Discover London, held on 19 September 2026.
Organised by Volkova Agency in partnership with the UA in UK Community, the platform brought emerging and established fashion brands from different countries together for an immersive runway presentation and professional networking experience.
The fourth edition featured an international selection of designers and brands, including:
- Omar Mansoor
- Fedora Plug
- NAZARI
- Kateryna Bilous
- Karen Gold London
- Alicia Gu
- Sapira Machia
- NDOKI
Together, they represented a diverse spectrum of creative cultures, design philosophies and commercial ambitions. The programme demonstrated that some of the most interesting developments in contemporary fashion are emerging beyond the traditional centres and established global houses.
More Than a Traditional Runway Show
Fashion Discover London was conceived as more than a conventional catwalk event. Its principal objective is to turn fashion visibility into practical international development.
The 2026 edition adopted a more intimate format, combining runway fashion with immersive sound, carefully curated presentation and direct communication among guests. This environment allowed buyers and media representatives not only to observe the collections, but also to meet the people behind them and understand their creative vision, market positioning and development potential.
For designers entering London for the first time, such access can be especially valuable. The British fashion market is highly influential but intensely competitive. International brands must understand its consumers, retail structures, media landscape and professional expectations. Fashion Discover London acts as an entry point, helping designers introduce themselves to the industry within the global context of London Fashion Week.
