Hundreds of entrepreneurs, innovators and business leaders from more than 40 countries gathered in Switzerland to strengthen international cooperation, develop strategic partnerships and demonstrate the growing influence of entrepreneurial leadership on the global economy.
DAVOS, SWITZERLAND | 9-17 JULY 2026
In July 2026, Davos became the meeting place for hundreds of distinguished entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, founders of major infrastructure businesses, corporate executives and institutional leaders representing more than 40 countries across five continents.
Held at the renowned Davos Congress Centre, GLOBAL BUSINESS WEEK 2026 brought together people whose decisions influence industries, create employment, drive technological progress and open new markets. The event offered a rare opportunity for business leaders from different economic systems, cultures and generations to meet directly, exchange experience and explore practical opportunities for international cooperation.
Delegations from the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, France, the United States, Ukraine, Australia, Portugal, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye and many other countries participated in the international programme.
The central theme, “Business Diplomacy: Connections That Shape the Future”, captured a significant development in international economic relations: entrepreneurs are increasingly exercising influence through the companies they build, the capital they mobilise and the commercial relationships they establish across national borders.
One of the most important conclusions emerging from Davos was the growing relevance of business diplomacy at a time of geopolitical uncertainty, changing trade relationships and rapid technological development.International economic cooperation cannot depend exclusively on negotiations between governments. Companies make thousands of decisions every day about where to invest, which markets to enter, which technologies to develop and whom to trust as long-term partners.
A conversation between two entrepreneurs from different countries may lead to the creation of a joint enterprise, a new distribution network, a manufacturing investment or an international educational initiative. These decisions can generate economic activity that extends far beyond the companies directly involved.
Business diplomacy begins when entrepreneurs establish sufficient trust to work together despite differences in nationality, language, culture or political environment.
For companies developing large-scale infrastructure, energy systems, technological platforms, manufacturing facilities or international service networks, this capacity is particularly valuable. Their projects frequently require cooperation between several countries, financial institutions and commercial partners.
The Davos discussions demonstrated why direct relationships between business decision-makers remain essential, even in an increasingly digital economy.
EIGHT INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMES, ONE BUSINESS COMMUNITY
The structure of GLOBAL BUSINESS WEEK 2026 reflected the diversity of the modern entrepreneurial economy.
The programme combined the Davos World Business Forum, Startup World Cup Championship, Global Education Forum, World Woman Forum, Global Country Day and Parade of Nations, international business awards, executive networking and strategic family business activities.
This created opportunities for established entrepreneurs to interact with startup founders, educators, investors and the next generation of business leaders.
Discussions examined artificial intelligence, digital transformation, international investment, energy transition, family business succession, entrepreneurial education, global trade and sustainable economic growth.
The Forum also carried historical significance. It was opened by Christina Batruch, daughter of Bohdan Hawrylyshyn, co-founder and first Director of the World Economic Forum. The opening coincided with the centenary of his birth, recognising a legacy associated with international dialogue and economic cooperation.

The breadth of their geographic representation reinforced an important principle: the future of international business requires wider participation from entrepreneurs operating beyond the world's traditional financial centres.

THE MAIN RESULTS: INTERNATIONAL CONTACTS, PARTNERSHIPS AND NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
The most significant outcomes of GLOBAL BUSINESS WEEK 2026 emerged through direct interaction between participants.
Throughout the programme, bilateral meetings, executive networking sessions, investment discussions and partnership negotiations allowed entrepreneurs to identify common commercial interests and potential areas of cooperation.
Post-event reports described new cooperation agreements and cross-border initiatives, alongside discussions expected to continue beyond Davos.
These activities created several important forms of value.
For entrepreneurs, the Forum provided access to potential commercial partners and new international markets. Investors gained opportunities to meet business founders and examine emerging projects. Business associations and institutional representatives expanded their international contacts and identified opportunities for future cooperation.
THE ECONOMIC POWER OF ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP
One of the central messages of Davos 2026 concerned the economic importance of people willing to create and develop businesses.
Natural resources, financial capital and advanced technologies cannot generate their full economic value without people capable of organising enterprises, managing risks and bringing ambitious projects into operation.
Entrepreneurs connect these resources with real economic needs.
This is particularly evident in infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, logistics, financial services, education and technology, where business decisions influence employment, productivity and long-term regional development.
GLOBAL BUSINESS WEEK brought attention to this entrepreneurial contribution while recognising the importance of cooperation between established corporations, family businesses and emerging founders.
The inclusion of young entrepreneurs was especially relevant. Through the Startup World Cup Championship and international educational programmes, the next generation had opportunities to present projects and engage with experienced business leaders.
Such interaction contributes to the transfer of business knowledge across generations and supports the development of future entrepreneurs.
GLOBAL BUSINESS WEEK 2026 in Davos reinforced a compelling idea: the future of the world economy will be shaped, in considerable part, by entrepreneurs who are willing to communicate, cooperate and build businesses across borders. In an era when international dialogue is increasingly difficult, creating opportunities for business leaders to meet, negotiate and work together is itself an important contribution to economic development.
The conversations that began in Davos now have an opportunity to become the partnerships, investments and enterprises of tomorrow.
