INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL COOPERATION: 2026 MOC has been signed between WESIO/UK and ONEU/Ukraine

A Memorandum of Cooperation focused on introducing educational innovation has been signed between the World Education, Science and Innovation Organisation (WESIO), United Kingdom, represented by its CEO, Dr Olga Azarova, and Odesa National Economic University (ONEU), Ukraine, represented by its Rector, Dr Anatolii Kovalov.

This strategic partnership marks the beginning of a new chapter in the international development of higher education. It creates a framework for introducing innovative educational licences, cutting-edge academic programmes, modern teaching methodologies and internationally oriented learning opportunities at ONEU.

Odesa National Economic University (ONEU) is one of the leading economic higher education institutions in Ukraine, playing a pivotal role in preparing specialists for the national and international economy.

Building a University of the Future

The cooperation is designed to strengthen ONEU’s position as a leading centre of educational innovation in Odesa and the wider Odesa region. By combining the university’s academic traditions with WESIO’s international expertise, the partners aim to modernise education, improve teaching quality and help students acquire the practical competencies required in the contemporary global economy.

Today, universities must provide more than theoretical knowledge. Students need entrepreneurial thinking, digital literacy, leadership abilities, international experience and the confidence to transform their ideas and talents into viable projects. The partnership between WESIO and ONEU will support the integration of these qualities into the educational process.

Five International Opportunities for Students

The cooperation is expected to provide ONEU students with access to at least five major international opportunities:

1. UK Double Diploma Programmes

Students will have the opportunity to complement their Ukrainian qualification with an additional British diploma, strengthening their academic profile and improving their prospects in the international labour market.

2. International Business Olympiads

Students will be able to participate in prestigious international competitions that test their knowledge of economics, business, entrepreneurship, innovation and strategic decision-making.

3. Startup World Cup Championships

Young innovators will receive opportunities to develop their own startup projects, present them to international experts and compete with entrepreneurial teams from different countries.

4. International Business Tours & MBA

Participants will gain practical exposure to successful companies, entrepreneurs, innovation centres and business ecosystems. These visits will help students understand how theoretical knowledge is applied in real organisations.

5. UK and European Discovery Tours

Educational journeys across the United Kingdom and Europe will introduce students to leading universities, research centres, business institutions and innovation platforms while expanding their international networks and professional horizons.

From Knowledge to Measurable Results

A genuine educational innovation is not simply a new idea or technology. It is an implemented solution that produces a measurable improvement. Through this cooperation, academic knowledge can be reinforced by startup development, project-based learning, business simulations, international competitions and direct engagement with the global professional community.

Students will learn not only how economic and business systems operate, but also how to identify opportunities, create value, build teams, design business models, present projects and bring innovative ideas to the market. This practical orientation will increase their readiness for employment, entrepreneurship and international professional activity.

Creating Global Opportunities for a New Generation

The Memorandum also opens new possibilities for academic staff. International cooperation can provide access to modern educational resources, innovative teaching techniques, professional development programmes and new connections with universities, experts and educational organisations worldwide.

Together, WESIO and ONEU are not simply modernising individual academic programmes. They are building an international educational ecosystem capable of preparing a new generation of entrepreneurs, innovators and global leaders.
