TOP-13 Trump’s Mistakes 2025 that can't make US "great again"

Before he even ascended to the “throne,” that is, the post of President, Trump made many painful geopolitical mistakes, critically lowering trust in the United States in global markets and in the strength of the country’s general line, which, as it turned out, turned 180 degrees in a month, weakening both the world order and relations between countries.

Trump's gross violation of international law began immediately upon taking office. He said some unbelievable things about what he wants:
  1.  - to take away the Panama Canal,
  2.  - to forcibly annex Canada to the United States as the 51st state,
  3.  - to annex Greenland to the United States,
  4.  - to evict the indigenous people of Palestine from Gaza and make a "riviera based on US property" there.
  5.  - to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the American Gulf,
  6.  - to withdraw US troops from Europe, weakening NATO,
  7.  - and the most brutal thing is a 180-degree turn in the rhetoric on Ukraine and Russia.

This week began with rude statements towards Ukraine and President Zelensky, who declared the impossibility of considering the issues of war in Ukraine without Ukraine and also refused to sign enslaving contracts with Trump's businessmen for the use of Ukrainian rare earth resources in exchange for military support.

Zelensky argued that the amounts should be equal, and not inflated by one of the parties, and secondly, Ukraine offers joint post-war economic cooperation, and not enslavement. Trump is not used to receiving refusals and burst out with expressions unworthy of the president, and also turned to declare his love for Putin, refusing to call him an aggressor. This shocked the world.

Let's look at Trump's main geopolitical mistakes, which began back in 2019.

Trump’s Mistakes Regarding Ukraine, UN Laws, and Global Justice

Mistake № 8. Undermining Ukraine’s Security and Sovereignty

Trump’s decision to delay nearly $400 million in military aid to Ukraine in 2019 weakened the country’s defence against Russian aggression. This move was widely seen as an attempt to pressure Ukraine into launching investigations that would benefit his political campaign.
His approach signalled a lack of firm support for Ukraine, which emboldened Russia and contributed to instability in the region.

Mistake № 9. Weakening International Law and UN Principles

The UN Charter upholds the sovereignty of nations and prohibits the use of force against their territorial integrity. However, Trump frequently downplayed Russia’s violations of these principles, including the annexation of Crimea in 2014. Instead of holding Russia accountable in line with UN resolutions, Trump publicly questioned U.S. commitments to NATO, undermining collective security agreements designed to protect nations like Ukraine.

Mistake № 10. Erosion of Global Justice Based on UN Laws

Trump’s foreign policy often prioritized transactional relationships over legal and moral principles. His administration’s approach to Ukraine suggested that support depended on personal or political gain, rather than upholding justice and international law. By downplaying Russian interference in Ukraine and refusing to take a strong stance against Putin, Trump signalled that violations of international law could go unpunished, weakening the UN’s role in maintaining global justice.

Mistake № 11. Threat to Global Stability and Democratic Alliances

Trump frequently criticized and alienated traditional allies, including European countries that support Ukraine and uphold UN laws. His "America First" policy ignored the importance of international cooperation, weakening the global response to authoritarian threats.

Mistake № 12. Elon Mask is Trump's annoying mistake. There is probably not a single person in the US who would not be irritated by the arrogance and permissiveness of "President Mask". Yes, that's what they call him in the country. A separate article could be written about this, but for now, it's just a statement of fact. Protest rallies across the country demanded Trump's impeachment and Musk's removal from office.

Mistake № 13. And, of course, the icing on the cake was the official posting of a photo of Trump with a crown on the official White House Twitter account. This outraged everyone. Richard Gere, Oprah Winfrey, Robert De Niro, Madonna, Lopes and hundreds of Democrats and Republicans spoke out against this madness. People came out with protests.

Trump's actions towards Ukraine, the EU, Canada, Panama, Palestine, and Denmark have not only undermined the credibility of the US but also weakened international mechanisms designed to maintain justice and security. His actions have undermined UN laws, emboldened aggressors, and upset the balance of global stability.
